The car left the track on the North curve (Monza) and Overturned. Bordino broke an arm but Giaccone was killed. After much thought Fiat decided to start in the GP. Despite his broken arm Bordino insisted on taking part. He steered with one arm and his mechanic changed gear for him. Despite his handicap Bordino immediately took the lead and at half-distance had a large lead. After 45 laps he had to retire, totally exhausted.
